Intensive 3

The third intensive of the CYS 200hr Yoga Teacher Training looks specifically at the family of postures known as ‘open hip’ and ‘back bend’.

Asana

Morning asana (yoga posture practice) reveals the principles of open hip and/or backbend. You will have the freedom to explore how to modify each posture and clarify the amount of effort needed.

An explicit focus on meditation is introduced in this Intensive as a way to further train attention.

Practice Teaching

You will practice teach different open hip and backbend postures and you will create your own sequences. Your practice teaching skills will be enhanced by learning how to do (and not do) adjustments. Lastly, you will add meditation to your teacher tool belt.

Philosophy

In intensive 3 we continue studying Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra. In particular, we will look more closely at the 8 limbs of Hatha Yoga.
